How it works

A live, fully hosted, city game

CATAG is a live, outdoor team game played across real city streets and spaces.


Every game is hosted and supervised by a trained Game Master, ensuring a smooth, safe, and high-energy experience from start to finish.

You don’t need any special equipment — just your phone, comfortable clothing, and a willingness to get involved.

Step 1 — Book your game

Choose your city, select a date and time, and book your place online.

  • Games are booked per person

  • A minimum number of players (10) is required for each session

  • Bookings close a few days before the game to allow preparation

  • Secure online payments at time of booking

Once booked, you’ll receive a confirmation email with joining details.

Step 2 — Meet your Game Master

On the day, you’ll meet your Game Master at a designated meeting point in the city.

They will:

  • Welcome the group

  • Explain the rules and objectives

  • Cover safety guidance

  • Divide players into teams

Your Game Master runs the entire session — you’re never left to figure things out on your own.

Step 3 — Play the game

Using the CATAG app, teams compete across the city by:

  • Reporting opponent agents by capturing their image

  • Exploiting city vulnerabilities

  • Bounty hunts

Games are fast-paced, tactical, and social — mixing movement, teamwork, and quick thinking.

The Game Master monitors play throughout, adapting the game as needed based on conditions and group dynamics.

Step 4 — Wrap up and results

At the end of the session:

  • Scores are confirmed

  • Highlights are shared - There WILL be funny photos!

  • The winning team is announced!

Many groups choose to continue the experience with food or drinks nearby, but this is entirely optional.

  • Play areas avoid traffic and hazards

  • Games are adjusted for weather and visibility

  • Clear rules are enforced throughout

  • Respect the public space

  • Follow Game Master instructions

  • Play responsibly

  • Age: 18+

  • Fitness: Moderate — you should be comfortable walking briskly and moving around

  • Experience: None required
